This Atlas is designed to assist those learning to manage the airway. The book from anesthesiologist Steven L. Orebaugh explores everything from understanding the basics of anatomy, to mask ventilation and direct laryngoscopy, to comprehending alternative techniques for situations in which direct laryngoscopy is difficult, or cannot be utilized. Text is kept to a minimum, while illustrations are utilized extensively to provide visual understanding of concepts. A large variety of illustrations is presented, including mockups in cadaver specimens, photos of airway management in the clinical setting, simulated airway management scenarios, and photographs of the airway utilizing video laryngoscopes and fiberoptic bronchoscopes.
